Formally known as the city of lakes and Venice of East,
Udaipur is beautifully set amidst the Aravalli ranges of Rajasthan. The
beautiful lakes and the elevated hills makes a picture perfect backdrop
creating a awe spiring image. Udaipur has much to offer with beautiful green

Udaipur is also known as Jewel of Mewar since it was ruled by
the Sisodia dynasty for a consecutive duration of 1200 years. The city
portrays a perfect blend of water and lush green hills that have inspired
poets and writers. Its palaces are straight from the fairy tale book.
Udaipur is also the centre for performing arts and craft. Miniature painting
is the specialty of the region. The Shilp Gram festival is a center of
attraction for the tourists during the season.

Pratap Memorial

Pratap Memorial:
The historical site is dedicated to the gallant Maharana Pratap. It is
situated at the top of Moti Margi or Pearl Hill, overlooking the beautiful
Fateh Sagar lake. The memorial comprises a life-sized bronze statue of
Maharana Pratap riding on his loyal and favorite horse, Chetak.
City Palace:
The majestic architectural marvel stands tall over the placid lake on a
hill surrounded by crenallated walls. It is conglomeration of courtyard,
pavilions, terraces corridors rooms and hanging gardens. The main entrance
of the palace is through the triple arched gate. The maharanas were weighed
under the gate in gold, the the equivalent amount of which was distributed
amongst the populace.
Fateh Sagar:
A beautiful lake overlooked by the hills on three sides. On the north of
the lake lies the Pratap Memorial which was built by Maharana Fateh Singh.
Nehru park is the lovely garden island on the lake accessible by an
enjoyable boat ride.
Jagdish Temple:

This temple was built during the reign of Maharana Jagat Singh
between 1628-1653 A.D. It is the largest and most beautiful temple of the
Udaipur built in Indo-Aryan style of architecture. The temple is dedicated
to Lord Vishnu, the protector of the universe.
