Pushkar, the pilgrim city is picturesque town situated 14
km north east of Ajmer. Th is place is famous for its temples and lake, the
Nag Pahar (Snake Mountain), which forms a part of chain of the Aravali
ranges. The town is situated around the beautiful lake and surrounded on
three sides by hills, while the fourth side is cordoned by sands from the
plains of Marwar.
It is one of the most revered place for hindus and is referred as 'Tirth
Raj'. No pilgramage is complete with dip in the sacred water of Pushkar. The
beautiful Pushkar Lake is a sanctified spot considered, as old as creation.
It is surrounded by 52 bathing ghats, where people come to take a holy dip.
The only temple of Bramha is located here, at Pushkar.

Pushkar Fair

Pushkar Fair:
Pushkar fair is one of the most popular and colorful fairs of the Thar
desert. The fair begins on Kartik Shukla Ekadashi & goes on for five
days till Kartik Purnima. It is the world's largest camel fair held in the
holy city. The Camel festival hosts around 50,000 camels in this magnificent
event. Pushkar mela is an occasion for villagers from far and near to gather
together and enjoy a welcome break from their harsh life of the arid desert.
Bramha Temple:
The flourishing temple of the town is full of myths and faiths, this is the
only existing temple dedicated to Lord Bramha in India. It was built in 14th
century and stands high on the plinth of white marble ladder. A beautifully
carved silver turtle ideally sits on the floor of the sanctum or garbha-
griha. The marble floor around the turtle is studded with numerous silver
coins.
Pushkar Lake:
The sanctified spot of the Pushkar Lake is considered as old as the
creation, and has been a place of pilgrimage for the Hindus since time
immemorial. It is surrounded by 52 bathing ghats, where devotees throng in
large numbers to take a holy dip during the month of Kartik (Oct/Nov).

Warah Temple

Warah Temple:
Warah temple houses an image of Lord Vishnu in the incarnation of a wild
boar(Varah). This ancient temple was built by Chauhan King Anaji
(1123-1150), was renovated by Gokul Chand Parikh, a Scindia minister in
1806. The temple of Lord Brahma and Warah are considered to be equally
important for the pilgrims.
