Mandwa

Mandwa is one of the prime attractions of Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. It is located in the northern region within the triangle formed by Delhi-Bikaner-Jaipur. The small town is famous for 18th century fort which has now been converted into a luxury heritage hotel - "Mukundgarh Fort Heritage Hotel". The archway is adorned with interesting paintings of Lord Krishna and his cowherds.

Mandwa Castle was once said to be an important halt in the silk route but now it has paintings on folk and social themes. European themes find a clear cut reflection in the various murals and frescoes. The colourful frescoes are based on different subjects ranging from the religious to the erotic; from copies of popular English prints to witty social satire, rendered in the inimitable style of the local artist. Mandwa is the perhaps the best place to discover the legacy of Shekhawati region

Nawalgarh:

Nawalgarh

It is situated around 37 km south of Mandwa and is famous for its fort, built in 1737. Some of the other attractions here include havelis of Anandi Lal Poddar, Aath Haveli, Hem Raj Kulwal Haveli, Bhagton Ki Haveli, and Khedwal Bhavan.

Mukundgarh :
located 25 kilometers southeast of Mandwa, Mukundgarh is a small village famous for its fort and havelis.

Fatehpur :
Fatehpur was established in 1451 as a capital for Muslim nawabs but was taken by the Shekhawat Rajputs in the 18th century. Some of the major attractions of the place include the Mahavir Prasad Goenka Haveli, Gauri Shankar Haveli, Nand Lal Devra Haveli, and Harikrishnan Das Sarogi Haveli apart from a 17th century baoli.

Jhunjhunu :
The district headquarter of Shekhawati region, the town was founded by the Kaimkhani nawabs in the mid-15th century. It is popular amongst the tourist for Khetri Mahal, Bihariji Temple, Modi Haveli, and Kaniram Narsinghdas Tiberwala Haveli.

Shopping at Mandwa is a delightful experience. The artist of Mandwa hold the perfection in the art. Their creativity can be seen in the bustling market of the town. Beautiful wood carved furniture of the region has a special characteristic. Visitors can also opt for metal utensils, bangles as well as tie-and-die fabric while shopping at Mandwa.

Jhunjhunu is the nearest railhead i.e. just 13 kms from Mandwa. It is connected to the major cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Bharatpur, etc.
